Acorn Recruitment are recruiting for a Head of Crisis Prevention and Home to work within the housing services function of our third sector client in South Wales.

Our client has offices across key locations in South Wales, including Cardiff, RCT, Torfaen, Caerphilly and Bridgend so an office base can be agreed with the successful candidate.

Our client works with people experiencing challenges with their mental health, and with communities who want to create a greater sense of connection, ownership and wellbeing in the places they live.


About the role:

Seeking to appoint a Head of Crisis Prevention & Home to work with the Deputy Director, the Executive team and leadership team to provide transformational leadership within our Crisis Prevention and Home Services and the wider organisation.

We are looking for a values driven leader who has a demonstrable commitment to our work, understands what is wrong with the current system and dominant mental health narrative.
This is a full-time permanent position that offers a salary of £40,000 per year along with a number of great benefits.


Role responsibilities:

Specific to your role we need you to:

* Provide operational leadership across the Crisis Prevention and Home services in Gwent, Merthyr, Caerphilly, Torfaen and RCT.
* Work with the Deputy Director of Operations on key pieces of work to meet the 2024 Strategic Milestones within the refreshed strategy.
* Lead in a way to ensure you and your team are creating and maintaining psychologically safe environments in which all colleagues feel safe and confident to challenge, disagree, experiment, explore and learn in pursuit of our vision and purpose.
* Nurture and maintain exceptional external relationships with commissioners and key stakeholders, role modelling and always upholding our values and approach in pursuit of our purpose
* To work with key departments to embed and maintain systems and process that ensures all projects and services are managed in a legally compliant and safe way.
* To support the development of line managers and where appropriate, equip them with the skills, knowledge, competence, and confidence to fulfil their leadership and management functions


What we're looking for:

* Can demonstrate that they understand our purpose and the rationale for a new narrative and the reasons systems are not working. This could be personal or professional experience.
* Has experience and knowledge of working within the supported housing, mental health or crisis sector.
* Has experience of public sector procurement, commissioning and contract management
* Has experience in managing and developing a team
