Acorn Recruitment is searching for a Maintenance Manager to join our client based in Preston.

The successful candidate will co-ordinate all maintenance schedules and the budget as well as all ongoing maintenance projects/refurbishment programmes and plan resources. This is a hands-on technical role ensuring equipment and buildings are maintained to a high standard plus managing a small team of skilled operatives.

The ideal candidate will have excellent organisational skills plus the ability to use a variety of computer systems competently. They must be multi-skilled and happy to put their hand to anything but a biased towards electrical maintenance is preferred. They must show the ability and have experience in implementing preventative and planned maintenance schedules and work within set budgets.

Key Responsibilities:

* Overseeing the planning and implementation of schedules of work plus any reactive maintenance required across the business.
* Responsible for ensuring control of all maintenance budgets to annual target
* Completion of electrical maintenance across sites
* Supervising and motivating a team of operatives
* Installation of new equipment
* Reviewing worker performance
* Identifying training needs
* Ensure periodic and preventative maintenance schedules are appropriately scheduled and accomplished.
* Ensure emergency troubleshooting/maintenance support are readily available as needed.
* Liaise with production to schedule plant/equipment maintenance
* Managing maintenance goal setting, activity scheduling and work allocation to ensure measurable goals, balanced workload distribution and effective staff management
* Monitoring and continually improving maintenance processes and maintenance personnel performance to achieve best in class levels of efficiency
* Identify improvement opportunities, and progress with team(s) and line management, including the development of the preventative maintenance program

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
* Supervisory experience with heavy machinery, production lines or related fields
* Strong critical thinking and organisational skills
* Ability to identify and solve inefficiencies in processes

Hours of work are Monday to Friday, day shift.
Salary is dependent on the experience to offer.
