This position is responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety, environmental and welfare programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees. The successful candidate will be a self-starting leader who enjoys the challenges of daily involvement across the organisation. You will eventually be a part of rolling the Health and Safety plans for the organisation globally.

About the Role;

  • Salary 30,000-35,000k
  • 37.5 hours per week Flexible start and finish times between 7:30-5:30
  • Full time permanent office based
  • Location - Wolverhampton

About the role;

  • Liaising with customers, suppliers, internal departments, and other stakeholders on environmental and health & safety topics.
  • Ensure a safe working environment by following, supporting, and maintaining good working practices.
  • Comply with all relevant HS&E legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure business complies with ISO9001, ISO14001 and 45001 policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety policies, procedures, rules and regulations are adhered to and are regularly reviewed, updated, and communicated.
  • Establish and conduct with HR a structured programme of health & safety training throughout the Company, identifying any further training needs or programmes.
  • Liaise with external health & safety consultants to provide training programmes and health and safety services.
  • Manage and devise the agenda, chair and formulate & distribute minutes for the Health & Safety Committee meetings. Ensure that all agreed action points are completed within deadlines.
  • Keep up to date with all aspects of relevant health, safety & welfare at work legislation and communicate relevant changes to the business.
  • Liaise with facility suppliers i.e. Insurers, solicitors etc.
  • Direct and manage facilities operator in dealing with waste streams and third parties.
  • Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.
  • Support other departments in NPI requirements.
  • Review of Control Plans (CP) and Product Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
  • Attend RFQ / contract review meetings to understand implications of change management.

About you;

  • At least 3 years recent and relevant experience in a similar role.
  • NEBOSH (General Certificate) qualified or working towards certificate accreditation.
  • IOSH trained
  • COSHH Trained
  • REACH Trained
  • Environmental Management experience and training.
  • ISO 9001 / 14001 and 45001 auditing experience.
  • Experience of formulating, implementing and revising H&S policies and procedures.
