Acorn is proud to be a partner to the NHS, we are currently looking for a Locality Assessment and Review Manager in the Birmingham area.

In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational management of the Birmingham Solihull CCG and provide excellent management and professional leadership to the continuing Healthcare team. Lead the Clinical Team to ensure that all assessments and reviews and Fast Track are carried out in a timely manner and to a high-quality standard.

The post holder is responsible for meeting the national and local KPI's and reporting directly to the All Age Continuing Health Care Adults Lead. The post will report information on any delays which occur in meeting national framework guidance. This will include delays to assessments and reviews. Where necessary contribute to improvement strategy to prevent delays through quality issues in submission of DSTs to MDT.

Key responsibilities

* Ensuring the statutory requirements as laid out in the National Framework for NHS Continuing Healthcare (CHC) and NHS - Funded Nursing Care (FNC) is implemented.
* Develop robust processes and procedures and policies which are compliant with legislative and national guidance and in accordance with CCG responsibilities.
* To manage contentious situations in relation to disputes between partner agencies or with individual patients and relatives.
* To work in partnership with the Local Authority, Acute Trusts and Care Homes to ensure timely discharges and good quality and cost-effective placements.
* To prepare legal cases and reports in relation to any challenges to the established decision-making process, including supporting CCGs in instructing solicitors as required, up to and including judicial reviews.
* To hold a small case load of patients with complex needs 1:1 (PHB / LPS / Transition / BIA / Legal cases) and High cost care packages exceeding £10k a week and ensure their reviews are completed in a timely manner and care packages adequately meet their needs.

Requirements

* Demonstrable experience of working in a large complex organisation.
* Experience of working within the NHS. Masters or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area.
* Evidence of post qualifying and continuing professional development.
* Must have an understanding of the background to and aims of current healthcare policy in BSOL and appreciate the implications of this on engagement
