Social Work Assistant needed - Kickstart your Social Work career!

A Local Authority based in the West Midlands is seeking to appoint a number of Social Work Assistants to their Safeguarding service to help provide support to the Social Worker's in these areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for those that are looking to gain valuable statutory experience within a children's social work team and pursue a career within Social Work. This is especially significant for those who are aspiring to become Social Workers as the successful applicant will have the opportunity to take on a substantial position with the authority should you perform well for the duration of the assignment.

Overview:

• You will be working to support Social Workers with their caseloads specifically around Safeguarding.
• This is a locum post which offers the opportunity to develop statutory experience as well as the opportunity to take on a permanent post in the future.
• The Safeguarding service helps support children and their families where there maybe a concern relating to the safety of the children/young person.
• The Local Authority use the Signs of Safetyapproach which you receive training on.
• If you are looking to take a Social Work post in the futurethis will provide you with an excellent platform to do so as it will give you the experience required.
• The team do direct work with children/young personswhich you will be a part of.
• There is a great deal of flexibility with this post and you will have the opportunity to work from home.

Responsibilities:

As a Social Work assistant you will be supporting a Social Worker with their caseload. The team take on cases from Section 47's and take them through proceedings through to Final Order. As a Social Work Assistant within the team you will have get regular reflective supervisions and will be well supported by the Social Worker and the Team Manager.

To be considered for this post you should have experience of working with children and families.
