Oaklands Global has been commissioned by a leading international Business Aviation Company to recruit a Technical Director.

 As the Technical Director you will be responsible for the management and oversight of the aircraft maintenance and airworthiness activities with accountability for the Airworthiness and Maintenance Control & Planning Departments.

 

Reporting to the Managing Director

 

Location: UK Based, permanent opportunity

 

Main Responsibilities include but not be limited to:

 

  • Ensuring that compliance is maintained within the applicable requirements within the specific area of responsibility
  • Establishment and development of continuing airworthiness policy
  • Analysis of the effectiveness of the Maintenance Programme
  • Defining the system for maintaining and regaining airworthiness certificates of company aircraft
  • Making sure that all maintenance is carried out on time and conforms to the approved standards
  • Monitoring maintenance contractors employed by the Company and checking that they meet the required standards
  • Check compliance with required aircraft CAW programmes and procedures
  • Monitor flight time on Company aircraft for the purpose of planning maintenance and repairs
  • Co-ordinate and check maintenance acceptance flights
  • Management Exposition and preparation of amendments
  • Develop the UK maintenance department programme
  • Propose associated maintenance resource requirements and budgets.
  • Plan, coordinate, direct and oversee maintenance work performed for the business to ensure all contract requirements and regulatory requirements are met
  • Provide positive leadership in customer relations and ensure customer satisfaction for maintenance-related issues.
  • Develop and monitor metrics to support the achievement of objectives, drive performance and to achieve consistency of maintenance.
  • Establish and modify maintenance policies, processes and procedures
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement of maintenance operations
  • Ensure adherence to and improvement of safety and compliance policies and procedures

 

Candidate Requirements

To be considered for the role the candidate must have:

  • A track record of planning and managing maintenance operations with sustained business performance, driving change, and building motivated teams.
  • Strong understanding of Continuing Airworthiness Management and the regulatory environment
  • Hold, or be capable and willing to hold, a CAM position approved by the UK CAA
  • Proven track record of engineering management – ideally within business aviation
  • Strong team building and communications skills
  • Customer-focussed with proven ability to achieve outcomes that meet customer requirements
  • Sound knowledge of safety and compliance requirements. 
  • Strong business and commercial acumen
  • 10+ years of aircraft maintenance experience.
  • 10+ years of experience managing multiple site aircraft maintenance
