Weekend Domestic Assistant / Weekend Cleaner (Permanent)

Job Title: Weekend Domestic Assistants

Location: South Croydon and New Addington

Salary: £8.62 per hour

Hours: Saturday & Sunday 9.00a.m. - 2.00p.m.

Closing Date: Friday 8th December 2017

A charitable Housing Association specialising in Supported Housing for the Elderly are now seeking to recruit Weekend Domestic Assistants to join their team in Croydon, to maintain under general supervision of the Premises Officer high levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the Residential Care Home in accordance with laid down procedures and contract agreements.

Key Responsibilities:

As part of a Domestic Team maintain to a high standard of cleanliness the communal and residential areas.

Including on a rota/regular basis or within timeframe determined by contract:

• Sweeping or Vacuuming all floors
• Wash & Disinfect all hard floors
• Wipe/Dust all surfaces, window sills, radiators, skirting's, finger plates, door handles etc
• Make residents beds
• Empty clinical waste bins using appropriate equipment
• Cleaning all sanitary ware inside and out
• Strip resident's beds replacing bed linen
• Steam Clean all sanitary ware
• Clean carpets

Assist the Laundry Domestic with:

• Collecting, sorting, washing and ironing/pressing residents clothing returning to residents room (full training provided)
• Collecting bed linen, washing, pressing and returning to linen stores and residents rooms

On occasion provide support to Kitchen Assistants as follows:

• Taking dirty crockery and cutlery to catering kitchen
• Returning clean crockery and cutlery to residential clusters
• To safely move light furniture, chairs, wheeled beds etc in order to facilitate cleaning

Essential Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven contract cleaning experience
• Health & Safety / CoSHH training certificate

Desirable:

• Professional cleaning qualification.
• Infection control training
• Experience of cleaning within a care home environment
