The Councils are committed to improving the quality of life for everyone living in, working in and visiting east Suffolk. Already a progressive, successful partnership, they are in the process of combining their two authorities to create the largest District Council in the country, delivering vital services to those who need them most.

It is a truly exciting time to join them.

You will be working as a business partner, managing procurement strategies for a range of internal departments. East Suffolk has an ambitious programme of work and an appetite to invest in the local infrastructure and economy and procurement has a big part to play in this.

For example, perhaps you might be working with the funding team to pull together a group of arts organisations to put on a festival, or you might be helping the regeneration team find architects and designers for a major regeneration project along Lowestoft's waterfront, or helping Coastal management teams with cross-council solutions for coastal protection across the East of England.

The diverse range of services, projects and partnerships planned or already in place offers opportunities for personal development on a daily basis. New challenges of improving sustainability, engineering beneficial social value or delivering commercial options as part of their procurements will test your ability to think unconventionally.

Whatever the project, you will ensure that all procurement is undertaken in accordance with professional and legal standards and probity, and ensure best value for the citizens of East Suffolk using the most appropriate route(s) available.

You must be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) within a related field, be working toward full Membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply and have demonstrable first-hand knowledge of public sector procurement processes.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are essential requirements for this role as is the ability to deliver complex projects to time and budget.

In return, they can offer great opportunities for training and development. There is also a superb benefits package, including flexible working options, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.

They want you to stay with them for the long term, so they will give you all the support they can to build a rewarding career with their organisation. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference in a progressive authority.
