As a Project Manager you will play an important role applying to help us improve, maintain and preserve our wonderful waterway network for our customers to enjoy today and into the future. You are required to efficiently and safely manage project(s) contributing to increasing the number of p
eople using the waterway whilst protecting the heritage and integrity of the inland waterway network. The successful candidate will contribute to continuous improvement in project management processes and construction standards, quality, safety and value. This role is to be based in Northwich or Kidsgrove The Role: You will manage a number of projects within the North Wales, Greater Manchester and Potteries area, predominantly involving canal infrastructure maintenance and restoration. Capture project requirements and prepare a business case to justify investment in a project. Develop and implement a schedule of project activities and key milestones to achieve the project objectives. Plan and control forecasts and actual costs against the project budget. Assign, lead and motivate the project team to ensure all project (time, cost, quality, health and safety and environmental and heritage) objectives are achieved. e project. Maintain communications with stakeholders and the project team/organisation to satisfy their differing needs. Administer all aspects of the contract to ensure compliance (using NEC ECC/ECSC forms of contract). Manage projects in accordance with the Trust's Health and Safety policy and defined standards to ensure compliance. Handover and closure of the project in a controlled manner highlighting any areas for improvements or elements of good practice to be considered in future projects. Skills/ Qualifications: Holding a relevant degree (e.g. Project Management, Civil Engineering) An appropriate project management qualification is desirable. Proven track record of managing similar maintenance and restoration projects Robust knowledge of project management processes and systems Previous experience using SAP is desirable. Ability to manage stakeholders, taking account of their levels of influence Ability to prepare and maintain schedules for activities and events for
projects, taking account of dependencies and resource requirements Ability to develop and agree budgets for projects and control forecast and actual costs against the budgets. Good standard of written and verbal communication including experience in making formal presentations in project management subjects Valid driving licence appropriate to vehicle to be driven You will be working with a great team to deliver a very important service offering our customers across the waterway a positive experience and a desire to return.
