Senior Fire Consultant (Permanent)

An exciting opportunity has come available in Manchester as a Senior Fire Consultant. Projects will range from complex high value innovative schemes for new developments, fit-outs and refurbishments through to minor schemes.

Potential candidates will be required to have the following;

4+ years' professional experience working within a fire engineering /consultancy environment.

· Experience should include:
o Fire strategy development for clients
o Preparation of fire strategy reports
o Preparation of fire engineering solutions
o Carrying out smoke and heat modelling
o Carrying out fire risk assessments
o Carrying out construction works processes
o Business development
o Detailed knowledge of fire safety legislative and building regulations is Essential including:

§ Part B Building Regulations
§ BS9999
§ BS9991 and
§ BS7974
o Creating and reporting on Computational Fluid Dynamic fire models
o Fire engineering tools such as Two-Zone Modelling and / or Fast-Lite
o Ability to view, print and mark up drawings using CAD
o Business development

· A good understanding of passive fire protection methods and smoke control systems with a basic knowledge of fire suppression systems
· Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team
· Ability to manage own time to meet deadlines
· Candidates will have an appreciation of the commercial factors which affect design solutions
· Strong commitment to customer service
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Attention to detail
· Proactive and enthusiastic
· MUST have relevant engineering degree, ideally Fire Engineering
· MUST have a passion for creative and intuitive design
· Membership of the IFE would be advantageous
· Chartered Status would be advantageous
