Acorn Recruitment is working on behalf of a well-established international company whose focus is on the design and manufacture of advanced satellites and systems for telecommunications, earth observation, and navigation and science programmes

We are looking for a Quality Engineer to operate at the Stevenage Facility on a 12 month contract.

Job Profile

Within the Satellites Mechanisms Group the PA/QA Engineer is an integral member of the core product team along with the Responsible Engineer (RE) the Product Team Leader / Project Manager (PTL/PM) All supporting personnel M & P, Procurement, Production Engineering, Production Planning, AIT Assembly, AIT Test, EVT, QA, QC etc. form part of the wider integrated team.

In this role the PA/QA Engineer is responsible for the PA / Quality aspects relating to the Structures and equipment from what is often termed "Cradle to Grave".
In many respects being responsible for all Quality matters during the product lifecycle the role is more akin to a Project PA Managers role but also encompasses aspects and activities usually more closely associated with Quality Assurance (QA) and Procurement Quality. However the role presents opportunities to prepare and provide a quality status and regular reporting to higher management and at customer level.

DRB (Delivery Review Board)
Equipment Life Cycle Reviews - In House Reviews - Structures and associated Panels and Parts:
MRR (Manufacturing Readiness Review) - MPCB (Materials and Processes Control Board) - EQSR / PQSR (Equipment (or Product) Qualification Status Review) - KIP (Key Inspection Point) - MIP (Mandatory Inspection Points) - TRR (Test Readiness Review) - TRB (Test Review Board) - SRB (Shipment Review Board) - DRB (Delivery Review Board)
EIDP Generation (End Item Data Pack)
NCR Management (Non-Conformance Reporting).
Support structures builds:
Bath Tub, SAA Panels, SVM panels - and run structure level reviews
Control of structure level RFWs and NCRs
Co-ordination of structure level PCBs and MPCBs
DRB final deliveries to project

Essential

A good blend of people and process skills.
Effective communication is a key skill as are organisation, time and people management - along with strong experience in process and methodology.

Desirable
Experience in aerospace or a related production sector.

Education
To degree level (or equivalent) in a related subject
