An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Management Accountant to join a busy and highly successful service industry provider in the Newport area.

The key purpose of the role is to provide an efficient and professional level of assistance and support to the Group Finance Director. You will be managing the daily operational performance and overall management of the company's Purchase Ledger and General Accounts Departments.

Responsibilities include:

Operational management:
*Monitoring department productivity and assessing performance, ensuring action plans are in place to meet targets/expectations
*Completing month end procedures
*Monitoring and managing the company bank accounts
*Managing and developing the purchase ledger and general accounts functions to meet predefined targets and objectives of the business
*Communicating, liaising, and negotiating internally and externally using appropriate methods to facilitate the development of profitable business and sustainable relationships
*Managing department resources effectively; utilising cross functional working where appropriate, to ensure that peaks and troughs in workload are responded to accordingly and that a consistent level of service is provided at all times
*Managing all department workflow processes effectively, to ensure that all deadlines and targets are achieved and profitability protected accordingly
*Managing all department processes in conjunction with company policies and procedures
* Ensuring full compliance with internal systems and processes to meet ISO 9001 standard
*Taking responsibility for all relevant health and safety processes, in line with company and legislative requirements
*PAYE and VAT reconciliations
*Audit involvement
*Weekly and monthly reconciliation
*Purchase ledger responsibility
*Producing monthly management accounts for the group

People management & development:

*Managing a team of 3
*Providing direction and support to the team, creating an environment that ensures success for both the team and the business
*Coaching and developing the team to meet both organisational, team and individual objectives
*Managing the performance of the team to maximise both the capability and potential of individuals and ensuring appropriate personal development plans are in place and reviewed regularly
*Holding weekly department meetings and team briefs to ensure the team is fully informed, focused on the direction of the department / company and up to date with all operational and legislative requirements
*Leading by example and motivating the team through continually adopting a positive and encouraging approach
*Promoting a team-working ethos both within the team and wider organisational environment
*Developing personal skills and capability through on-going training, as provided by the company
*Carrying out any other reasonable duties which may be required in the course of your role

Qualifications & Experience

*You will be a fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW)
*A strong commercial awareness and high level of business acumen is essential
*You will possess strong people management skills and proven ability of managing a successful team
* Current, valid driving licence
