Are you an experienced planning officer or senior planning officer, looking to move into a new opportunity? I am recruiting for a planner and senior planner for one of my clients in Winchester. These are both immediate starts and are covering permanent opportunities, so will be available for a minimum period of 4 months or until filled. You will have the opportunity to apply for these jobs.
Do you have experience of managing enforcement cases with often complex detail? Can you demonstrate an investigative approach to your work, highlighting any areas of unauthorised development and building? If yes, please do read on as these are temporary opportunities that are starting immediately.

Responsibilities;
*Site visits and appraisals
*Manage enforcement cases as allocated
*Dealing with planning enquiries (by telephone, in writing and in person)
*Attending pre-application meetings with applicants and developers and carrying out negotiations prior to the submission of applications
*Appraising planning applications and making recommendations to the Principal Planner - Team Leader & Head of Development Management, under the Council's delegated system
*Appraising planning applications and making recommendations to the Planning Development Control Committee and presenting these to the Committee as required by the Team Leader.
*Preparing appeal statements and representing the Council at Hearings and, at the discretion of the Team Leader / Head of Development Management, being the Council's expert witness at Public Inquiries
*Carrying out research, analysis and preparing other planning reports
*Supporting junior staff in their professional and personal development
*Carrying out other duties as required from time to time by the Team Leader and Head of Development Management.
*Other related duties as defined by your team leader

Skills and experience required:
*Effective, articulate and persuasive communication
*Excellent writing skills, this will include reports, emails/letters, case notes and presentations
*Must have experience of dealing with court appearances and appeals
*Ability to lead whilst deputising
*Able to meet any travel requirements
*Must have an MRTPI qualification of similar professional qualification, or you should be qualified by experience
*Advanced IT skills
