Our client is looking for a Senior Non Rad Specialist to support the Lead Environment Specialist in the development of arrangements to support compliance with the non-radiological environmental legislation. This includes the management of the requirements of major permissions (DCO, Environmental permits) and any associated arrangements. The post holder will provide authoritative advice to all areas of the organisation on non-radiological environmental legislation and manage both internal and external stakeholders as part of this role.
Duties will include:-
Support the Lead Environment Specialist, as a core member of the Design Authority Team, in the delivery of business plan related targets and undertake specific roles within the business Management system.
Produce strategies and plans to define how the non-radiological environmental compliance will be implemented throughout the entire lifecycle of the Wylfa Newydd site, particularly design development. .
Produce functional requirements against which the design can be reviewed to ensure that the design is optimised with regards to non-radiological environmental performance.
Assist with the development of the technical capability of the staff within the team and the wider organisation.
Prepare the site-specific documentation needed in accordance with the agreed project programmes during design, construction, commissioning and operational phases to demonstrate compliance with non-radiological Environmental legislation.
Support the development of associated key processes and procedures required to demonstrate compliance with UK environmental legislation within the Wylfa Newydd design.
Engage with both internal and external stakeholders on all matters relating to non-radiological environmental matters
Provide authoritative advice on aspects of non-radiological environmental legislation which may influence the design of the Wylfa Newydd Site.
Candidates must have a relevant engineering or Science qualification to degree level.
Significant Experience in the application of UK Environmental legislation
Proven ability to interact with UK regulators and other stakeholders.
An understanding of the energy sector, ideally with experience of the UK nuclear industry. Ability to learn, adapt and thrive, delivering value in a changing and evolving organisation.

Flexibility and mobility to undertake business travel as required.
The Post holder will be required to demonstrate competency via a working knowledge of relevant skills as defined within the Technical Skills Matrix (HNP-S3-MGT-MTX-00001) as a minimum by the skill sets indicated by their own Post Profile and Title.
