E, C & I Designer (Contract)

Project Description
SSEP, SRP and S&R Programme carry out multiple, large value, security projects across the Sellafield site.

Job Description / Role
To be part of the management team to deliver several projects / sub-contractors across the Sellafield Site.
This person must be capable of working with minimal direct supervision and have the ability to translate a client requirement into a meaningful engineering design solution. Engineering design experience is fundamental and nuclear experience is preferable but not essential.

Responsibilities will include:
Responsible for ensuring compliance with client specifications and engineering standards. The role works alongside the Senior Engineer to ensure scope changes, and time constraints are managed.
Responsible, in co-operation with Client Project Engineers, for the technical quality of all conceptual designs, design schemes and detail drawings and associated design documentation.
Maintains compliance with Engineering Standards and applicable legislation
To participate in Design Reviews. Ensure that subsequent design meets the projects requirements.
Ensuring the confidentiality and security of data and information received from clients
Ensuring the requirements of the Health & Safety of Work act, CDM, Machineries Directive, and the COSHH regulations are understood and complied with
Liaise with the Senior Engineer to ensure effective project delivery to time and cost.
Maintain an overview of their project and provide some direction on project process, communications and consistency of approach

Preferential Experience:
Educated to HNC / HND in a relevant engineering discipline & member of an appropriate institute.
Currently BS or SC security cleared.

Security Clearance
This position is subject to the ability of the candidate to obtain as a minimum baseline personal security standard clearance and obtain a Sellafield P4 pass.
