To manage the day to day activities of the production departments of Digital Surfacing, Tint, Hardcoat and Reflection Free, Carex and Edging to ensure adherence to KPI targets and company policies and procedures.

* To ensure shift KPI's targets are monitored and achieved on an appropriate time basis, and any actual or potential underperformance of these targets is investigated immediately. Thereafter making any amendments that your investigations may highlight need to be taken, or if the issue can not be solved, communicating the problem to the appropriate person in a concise and timely manner.

* To manage and allocate your shift resources to ensure maximum adherence to KPI targets and work flow. Amending the allocation of these resources promptly across the production functions in reaction to any actual or potential issue.

* To manage the departments in a prudent way which meets budgeted targets, through minimising waste, use of consumables and minimising product rejects.

* To identify, implement and maintain the development of your team in line with the shift, department and company requirements. Analyse the departmental training needs through skills matrixes and by carrying out all operator annual appraisals.

* To design and implement training packages for the development of your teams in line with the Essilor LOFT training initiatives.

* To write production procedures and review as and when necessary to ensure that production processes are carried out in a standardised and homogeneous way.

* To manage in line with HR policies all shift based personnel issues including the T&A systems, attendance issues, first stage disciplinary and grievance interviews.

* To implement, monitor and support personal and departmental adherence to the 5s' standards.

* Effective, timely communication of company and departmental updates ensuring full coverage and understanding.

* To effectively communicate with the production manager the shift status and performance, and actual or potential developments and problems.

* To ensure the application of ISO 9002, ISO 14001 Environmental, Health and Safety procedures are followed, and to carry out appropriate remedial action immediately where there is failure in these procedures.

* To carry out safety reviews, risk assessments and accident investigations where and when required, ensuring any actions are allocated to the appropriate individuals and completed. Communicating to the effective individuals any changes or action that will effect their working practices.

* To ensure a good level of motivation within the shift and department to aid consistency within production, allowing for the shift / department KPI's and company objectives to be met.

* To provide training support for Deputy Production Shift Manager to ensure their competence when they provide cover.

* To actively seek opportunities for your own personal development.
