Housing Customer Technical Assistant
15 hours per week
Location: Exeter
Pay: £9.29/h
Start date: immediate
End date: 2 months period with a possible extension
Acorn is looking for an experienced Housing Customer Technical Assistant to join the team in the heart of Exeter
Duties include:
Providing extensive administrative and clerical support to the Housing Customer Relations Team:
- Tenancy and neighbourhood management
- Regular inspections of all properties and neighbourhoods
- Regularly reviewing flexible tenancies
- Resident involvement, including consultation and participation
- Tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB)
On occasions be a point of contact for tenants, leaseholders, landlords and other members of the public
Maintain and develop good working relationships both internally with other services and externally with other local authorities, housing associations, police, social services, private landlords and other stakeholders
Skills:
Experience of providing support (including administrative and clerical) to a team delivering a comprehensive housing management service with a social landlord
Some knowledge of housing legislation and landlord and tenant law and experience of explaining basic principles and policies verbally or in writing to tenants (complaints process for example)
Well organised with the ability to prioritise and be responsible for a heavy personal workload
Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately to tenants, across a range of disciplines to include in writing and verbally
