Our client is seeking a Quality Specialist / Quality Manager for an initial 3 month contract role based in and around Glasgow.

Proposed Responsibilities:

Maintain and improve the business management systems (for quality, environmental and occupational health and safety), including third party assessment and approval, to support winning and successfully completing work
Lead regular management review of the Company Operating systems to ensure their continuing suitability for the Business scope of activity
Deliver a management system for compliance with the pressure equipment regulations so that the company can meet the legal requirements for the design of pressure equipment.
Administer the business management systems, and develop project-specific procedures, linked to clients operating systems, where needed, so that there is always total clarity as to the procedures that should be in use
Develop project-specific operating procedures in conjunction with the Project Manager where necessary, to interface effectively with the Client.
Monitor the selection of and management systems of suppliers and subcontractors as part of Vendor assessment, to assure the company and its customers of the competence of suppliers and subcontractors
Manage QC/Inspection at suppliers to confirm that goods are in accordance with order and specification requirements and to prevent defective materials and equipment being sent to site
Ensure that the Quality organisation has the capability, in terms of skill set, resource levels and procedures, to deliver the agreed needs of the business.
Lead a performance culture, across all of Projects.

Qualifications and Comments

Educational Professional Qualifications Required

Essential:

Degree-level qualified/HND
Lead Assessor registration with IRCA
NEBOSH certificate or equivalent
Experience in the application of relevant quality / environmental / occupational safety management system standards (ISO 9001/ISO 14001/OHSAS 180001. Knowledge of the requirements of GS-R-3 (management systems for nuclear installations)
Nuclear Qualifications
Experience of continuous improvement tools and techniques
Understanding of QC inspection techniques
Able to interact and influence at all levels in the organisation and in Clients/Third party organisations
Membership of the Chartered Quality Institute
10 Years Experience as a Quality Manager/Engineer
