Horizon Teachers are currently looking for a Design Technology Technician to work within a great Secondary school located in Stratford, East London.

Are you an experienced Design Technology technician or a recent graduate looking for a role within the design Technology department in a school? This is a great opportunity to start working in a school and to work within a great department.

As a DT technician you will work closely within the Technology department and provide vital in class support as well as ensuring lessons are correctly resourced and set up. Having a strong knowledge of Design Technology and the workings of a workshop is essential. A background in Design Technology will enable you to work well in this role, throughout the day you will be required to support students as well as ensuring that equipment is maintained and used correctly. Previous school experience is not essential but candidates who have worked in schools as a Design Technology technician will be looked on favourably.

The Design Technology department is very well-resourced and has modern equipment that you will be working with. In this role you will be able to gain experience and also progress with the possibility of a permanent contract in the future. Design Technology Technicians looking to apply for this role must;
• Be able to work effectively in a team and alongside teachers,
• Be able to interact with staff and students alike
• Have an understanding of Design Technology machinery and be able to use/demonstrate its use.
• Be an excellent communicator able to interact with students
• Be able to maintain a working workshop including stock control.

• Be a self starter as well as being able to follow clear instructions.
