Team Leader / Technician (Permanent)

Acorn is recruiting for a Team Leader / Technician to contribute to the plastics manufacturing by managing all aspects of the injection moulding tasks. This is a permanent role based in St Austell, with a salary of around £28-32k. You are required to work day shifts, but will need to be able to move onto 4 on 4 off days and nights in the future.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to;

*Reporting of all health and safety incidents
*Manage resources aimed at achieving daily manufacturing targets, and for cost effective manufacturing
*Identify performance issues and communicate these with the production manager
*Provide support and mentoring to the production technical team
*Ensure all regular 5S activities are carried out and ensure moulding process is optimised and maintained

Occasionally, you may be required to carry out specific project work, which may or may not be within the normal operational environment and will require communication across all departments.

Qualifications/ knowledge:

*Must be computer literate
*Must have an Injection Moulding qualification such as BPTA Injection Moulding Technology Pt 3, or ILM Level 3 or equivalent
*City and Guilds in Polymer Processing
*Experience in a Lean Manufacturing environment (Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, 5Y)
*Ideally the candidate would have 3 years'+ experience in a supervisory position
