The Director Of Safety (DOS) (Permanent)

The Director Of Safety (DOS) is a full time position that reports directly to the President. The DOS is designated the primary SMS Management Representative.

DOS Qualifications:

The person assigned the DOS position must be qualified through training, experience, and expertise. A minimum of three (5) years experience in a similar role is required. Previous pilot or AMT experience is preferred.

The DOS must also have a full understanding of the following:

• Aviation safety standards and safe operating practices
• 14 CFR Chapter I (Federal Aviation Regulations)
• All appropriate maintenance and airworthiness requirements in the FARs

It is highly desirable that the DOS complete an aviation safety education program consistent with the position's responsibilities.
