Description:

 

Serves as production management lead for large aviation maintenance support organization. Responsible to program manager for the technical execution of the contract, and the cost, schedule and technical performance of company programs or subsystems of major programs.

 

·         Acts as primary customer contact for program activities, daily performance, and maintenance support requests. Directly manages production supervisors and mid-level managers. Identifies program problems and obtains solutions, such as allocation of resources or negotiating change to contractual specifications. Directs the work of employees assigned to the program.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

·         Lead technical execution of aircraft maintenance services contract. Provide daily oversight of operations to include management of employees and company resources. Manage production and maintenance effort for fleet of T-1, T-6 and T-38 aircraft and support activities.

·         Perform as program manager in their absence

·         Lead teams composed of multi-disciplined personnel to ensure realization of program objectives.

·         Act as a primary customer contact for program activities including briefings to senior customer management

·         Participate in negotiation of contracts/changes, coordinate preparation of proposals, statements of work, request for proposals and proposal evaluation.

·         Communicate program status, issues, risks, opportunities and plans to program manager and executive management

·         Provide day-to-day guidance and mentoring to employees and functional leads (Contracts, Business Management Quality Assurance, and other support staff agencies).

·         Provide oversight and coordination of subcontractors.

 

Knowledge and Abilities:

 

·         Possess knowledge of aircraft/aviation maintenance, modification, and related planning and execution.

·         Prior aircraft maintenance production superintendent level experience a must.

·         Experience with Air Force aircraft maintenance operations per AFI 21-101 series publication; AETC experience a plus

·         Detailed knowledge of US Government acquisition practices to include contract management

·         Knowledge of aircraft subsystems and components used for modification, upgrade, sustainment. *LI-MN1

 

Qualifications:

 

·         Bachelor's Degree plus

·         4 years of aviation aircraft maintenance management, production, flight line and backshop experience

Alternative:

·         Associate degree plus

·         8 years of aviation aircraft maintenance management, production, flight line and backshop experience

Alternative:

·         High School Diploma plus

·         12 years for aviation aircraft maintenance management, production, flight line, and backshop.

 

Experience:

·         Experience with T-1, T-6 or T-38 aircraft a plus

·         Leadership experience in multi-disciplined organizations or programs with Firm Fixed Price contracts and Cost-Plus contracts.

·         Must have demonstrated leadership and people management and development skills.

·         Possess strong oral, written, and presentation communications style and skills.

·         Possess strong customer relationship skills.

·         Must have prior program management experience for military or DoD programs.

·         Working knowledge of MS Office suite to include MS Word, Power Point, Excel and MS Project.

Must be able to obtain DoD Security Clearance (Secret Level)

Physical Requirements:

·         Must be able to work in aircraft hangar environment.

·         Must be able to climb/board aircraft.

·         Must be able to bend, stoop, balance, kneel, crouch, reach, grasp.

·         Must be able to walk for long distances moving from one work site to another.

·         Must be able to work primarily with fingers such as for typing.

·         Must be able to communicate effectively. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

·         Must be able to lift/maneuver up to 20 pounds.

·         Must have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures, viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects or small parts.

·         Must be able to work in extreme heat.

·         Will be subject to noise and hazards such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat. Subject to atmospheric conditions such as fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.

·         Must be able to work in narrow aisles or passageways.
