Chemical Policy Expert (Permanent)

My client is a niche consultancy very much specialized in advocacy work on the EU level. Due to replacement, a senior position opened in their chemical team. As a senior consultant, you will be in charge of managing the chemical clients and help with making advocacy strategies for these clients. You will be dealing with a variety of topics: REACH, CLP, Pesticides, Plastics, Sustainability, Circular economy,... Its import that the message is transferred in the right way and that you understand EU policy communication.

On top of that, you will be guiding two more junior people. As a team, you will provide full advocacy strategies to a variety of clients. This allows you to work on strategies, whilst still being hands-on involved by coaching the junior members on a daily basis.

The company differentiates itself by having a young entrepreneurial mindset, where everyone can propose ideas that will be listened to. They have short communication lines which will allow the decision to be made quickly. The standing location is in Brussels and you will join a very international team.

To be successful:

• University degree
• Strong understanding of chemical and environmental policies and how the EU institutions work
• Good communication skills in English, other languages are a plus
• Proven Advocacy experience
• Living in the Brussels area or willing to relocate
• Prior consultancy experience is preferred
• Experience managing/coaching juniors is a plus
