Our client is a specialist distribution company based in Lancashire with an annual turnover in excess of £17 million. Continuing to go from strength to strength, they have a newly created position for an HR Manager.
Reporting to, and working collaboratively with the Managing Director, the successful HR Manager will provide support to line managers and staff across all areas of the business and will provide a quality HR service. You will be the blueprint for the vision and values of the company and will display a strategic mindset that encourages company growth.
This appointment is a hands-on role and as HR Manager you will adopt a practical approach to your work.
Participating in general HR activities as well as recruitment, selection and monthly payroll for around 60 employees, you will also assume full responsibility for employee relations and the delivery of employee support as and when required.
The Role
As the Generalist HR Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that people management and development activity is delivered in the most effective manner possible.
Within this generalist role, you will provide support and advice to Managers and personnel across the business, acting as a role model for the vision and values of the company and displaying a strategic mindset that supports company growth.
Specifically, this will involve:
Driving the HR strategy
Creating communications that help build employee engagement
Developing HR policies that deliver enhanced performance
Providing people management support
Supporting all recruitment activity from needs identification through to interviewing and onboarding, including all the relevant compliance
Assisting in talent management and succession planning processes
Undertaking exit interviews
Helping with employee performance management and appraisals
Responsibility for monthly payroll including new starters, leavers, SSP, SMP etc
About You
Proven generalist HR experience
Experience of supporting Line Managers with all aspects of HR management
Solid knowledge of employee legislation and its application
A CIPD qualification
This is a fantastic opportunity for a HR Manager looking to secure a new challenge. Hours of work are 8.30-5.00 (40 per week), although there is the opportunity for flexibility should the right candidate be looking for this.
