An exciting opportunity for a Commissioning Engineer has arisen with our client in the UK-West Midlands-Birmingham area. This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary banding of £30,000 - £50,000, along with a car and benefits package.

Responsibilities of the Commissioning Engineer:

  • Commissioning the installation of BEMS and Control systems in line with customer design requirements and Project Engineer's guidelines within agreed timescales.
  • Supporting and maintaining a collaborative working environment with internal & external customers and stakeholders, including providing support to junior resources.
  • Validating software strategies and graphics created by the dedicated applications resource.
  • Performing physical wiring checks and plant start-ups.
  • Providing technical support to other trades and sub-contractors.
  • Troubleshooting to diagnose system defects.
  • Involvement in customer's validation processes as part of Commissioning works and Project handover procedures.
  • Maintaining cleanliness to ensure health and safety standards on-site.
  • Accurately reporting progress to the Project Engineer to maintain communications commitments.

Requirements for the Commissioning Engineer:

  • Extensive experience (3 - 5 years minimum) as a commissioning or pre-commissioning Engineer in the BEMS & Building Controls industries in the UK marketplace.
  • Strong technical understanding of industry-leading systems including Siemens, Trend, Tridium systems as a minimum.
  • High-level engineering experience with Siemens Desigo CC and Trend IQ Vision, including full integration of M-Bus, Modbus, Bacnet protocols.
  • Excellent communication skills and report writing to maintain strong relationships with all team members and customers.

Qualifications:

  • A recognised construction qualification (NVQ Level 5, HNC/HND, or higher in a Construction, Infrastructure, or engineering-related discipline).
