Job Title: Firedoor Carpenter

Location: Northampton

Monday- Friday 40 hours paid, ongoing work.

Position Overview: As a Firedoor Carpenter, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of social housing projects and council properties by installing, repairing, and maintaining fire doors to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong carpentry background and a keen eye for detail, with a focus on delivering quality workmanship and excellent customer service.

MUST have own vehicle- paid 19p per mile

Responsibilities:

  1. Install, repair, and maintain fire doors on social housing projects and council properties in Northampton.
  2. Conduct inspections of existing fire doors to assess their condition and identify any necessary repairs or replacements.
  3. Ensure that all fire doors are installed and maintained in compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
  4. Collaborate with other tradespeople and contractors to coordinate fire door installations and repairs effectively.
  5. Complete documentation and maintain accurate records of all fire door installations and maintenance activities.
  6. Provide guidance and support to clients and tenants on fire door safety and maintenance best practices.
  7. Respond to emergency calls and address fire door-related issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  8. Uphold a professional and courteous manner when interacting with clients, tenants, and team members.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Carpenter, with specific experience in installing and maintaining fire doors preferred.
  2. Strong knowledge of fire door regulations, safety standards, and best practices.
  3. Excellent carpentry skills, including the ability to measure, cut, and install doors with precision.
  4. Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
  5. Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients and tenants.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a focus on meeting project deadlines and objectives.
  7. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  8. Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed.
  9. Asbestos Awareness, Manual Handling, Working at height and CSCS- we can put you through these courses.
