Our Client:

Is a leading supplier of complex machined components for aerospace OEM and Tier 1 customers around the world. They are a specialist manufacturer of high-complexity components for aero-engine, power generation and air-frame applications. Our client has extensive machining capabilities supported by a highly experienced engineering team and special processes, allowing the company to take on the toughest aerospace engineering challenges.

Your Role:

The main responsibilities will be:

  • Ownership of all Quality Management processes including QMS documented information (AS9100), Business Process integration and Ownership Engagement, FAIR/PPAP, Audit (internal and external), Inspection, Metrology & Calibration, Non-Conformance and Root Cause investigations.
  • Development and implementation of processes to meet requirements across the organisation.
  • Providing clear leadership, direction, expertise and coaching in our Zero Defect ambition across Problem Solving aligning to AS9100, AS13001 and Sabre4.
  • Customer liaison and presentations.
  • Providing clear leadership and coaching to the Quality Team, ensuring continued compliance to the requirements of the QMS.
  • Collaborating the Senior Leadership team and with other stakeholders to create, develop and implement the Group Quality Strategy
  • Collating & analysing data resulting in improvement projects and programmes that eliminate waste and non-conformance.
  • Achievement of process improvement targets.
  • Leading continuous improvement processes and initiatives across the organisation with the ability to train teams in LEAN and SPC tools as required.
  • Working alongside Production and Supply Chain leaders in driving down problems and issues that affect product quality metrics (customer complaints, internal reject rates, concession rates etc.)
  • Ultimate responsibility for all Product Quality from supply chain to delivery of parts to customers.
  • Supporting external Customers with any quality related concerns and direction for all quality interaction with customers, suppliers, and statutory/regulatory authorities.
  • Efficient and effective QMS change process and traceability, running an effective internal auditing process.

What we are looking for:

Essential:

  • Experienced in forming, leading and developing quality teams.
  • Proven ability to drive improvement projects to fruition; root cause analysis (3C, 8D, 5W etc).
  • Significant Quality and Engineering sector experience, with a relevant professional qualification (BSc, BEng, MSc).
  • Strong understanding of AS9100.
  • Strong understanding of Aerospace FAIR and concession requirements.
  • An approachable manner and able to communicate effectively at all levels internally and externally.
  • Strong inter personnel and relationship building abilities.
  • A hands-on approach and 'get it done' attitude.
