About the Company:

Position Overview: Mechanical Pre-Contracts Manager will be responsible for leading the pre-contract phase of mechanical engineering projects, including estimating, proposal development, bid management, risk assessment, and contract negotiation. This role requires strong technical expertise in mechanical engineering, excellent project management skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct detailed analysis of project requirements, specifications, and drawings to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
  2. Collaborate with the sales and engineering teams to develop comprehensive project proposals that meet client needs and align with company capabilities.
  3. Manage the bidding process, including preparing bid packages, soliciting subcontractor and supplier quotes, and evaluating bids for competitiveness and compliance.
  4. Identify and assess potential risks and opportunities associated with projects, and develop strategies to mitigate risks and enhance project success.
  5. Offer value engineering suggestions to optimise project costs without compromising quality or performance.
  6. Participate in contract negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to finalise project terms and conditions.
  7. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes and foster future business opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 4 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on pre-contracts management.
  • Strong technical expertise in mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
