Principal Electrical Engineer
Location: Hersham, London, UK

Are you ready to re-imagine what's possible in electrical engineering? Our client is looking for candidate for the position of Principal Electrical Engineer based at their Hersham location. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with their other offices, leading various aspects of electrical work on operating plants across the EMEA region.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical scope of work on proposals and projects executed in the EMEA region, reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to electrical engineers, designers, technicians, and contractors.
  • Supervise Electrical Design teams, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Liaise with suppliers and outsourcing partners, seeking opportunities to enhance project value.
  • Define execution models for electrical engineering scope, monitor performance, and drive process improvements.

Requirements:

  • Electrical Engineering degree, preferably with a chartered engineer qualification.
  • Proven experience in electrical power engineering within industrial operations.
  • Expertise in specification and procurement of low, medium, and high voltage equipment.
  • Proficiency in power system analysis software (e.g., SKM Powertools or ETAP).
  • Detailed technical understanding of electrical equipment and systems, including motors, generators, transformers, switchgears, and variable speed drives.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of hazardous area equipment selection and application.
  • Experience in project management, engineering, maintenance, or reliability improvement.
