Acting Teaching Assistant (Temporary)

Classroom Teachers is looking for positive, bubbly and enthusiastic actors to be teaching assistants at our schools in northeast London throughout 2018.

In order to qualify for this role you would need to have experience and knowledge of working with children as well as the willingness to work with SEN students (special educational needs). We will need to get a reference for you commenting on your experience working with children.

By being proactive in the class, you will be able to build up a relationship with the pupils in order to help their learning. You will be able to engage with them in interactive activities working closely with and under the direction of the class's teacher.

If you have experience working with theatre in education (TIE) this is an excellent opportunity to continue working with pupils. Classroom already works with a number of Actors and we offer a flexible service that allows you to attend auditions and work around your acting requirements.

You will either be working in an SEN School or within the SEN unit attached to a mainstream school. Each of these schools have SEN specialists that help each and ever pupil with their pastoral needs. By working along side the SEN specialists you will quickly develop a greater understanding and knowledge of a wide variety of needs.

For many of our special needs schools enthusiasm and willingness to learn is more important than particular experience and therefore if you have ever considered this as a potential path then this is the job for you. Please not however that we will need a child related reference for work you have done in the last two years. You must be willing to undergo any school training that is relevant for the role you are going to be doing.

By working with Classroom Teachers you will work with a dedicated Support consultant and will be paid on a weekly basis. Classroom Teachers is acting as an Employment Business in relation to these roles.
