Multi Skilled Engineer

Our chosen business partner is a leading packaging manufacturer and has an exceptional reputation within recycling industry. Due to capital investment they are looking at increasing their engineering team. This is superb opportunity to join a diverse forward thinking manufacturing firm.


Key Responsibilities;

* Working within a very busy Maintenance and Engineering department liaising with other Maintenance engineer's, Production operatives, Production engineers and Management to maximise productivity and minimise downtime to plant and machinery.

* Working on maintenance shutdowns carrying out planned preventive maintenance schedules and other planned installations and improvements.

* Carrying out continuous improvement activities that contribute to gains in Safety, Quality and Productivity across the manufacturing process.

* Repairs to electrical and mechanical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment.

* Mechanical and Electrical Installation of machines and equipment, such as presses, robots, conveyors, PLC's and bespoke machinery.

* Proven competence following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand-tools.


Key Requirements;

* Previous experience within the maintenance department of an FMCG plant, ideally in a fast moving production environment.

* Electrical specialist with extensive knowledge of fault finding across 3 phase systems as well as some automation exposure.

* Ownership of machine and plant rectification processes to ensure a satisfactory conclusion which is effectively communicated to the broader engineering team and plant management and the area or workshop is left in a clean and safe condition in accordance with legislative requirements.

* Experienced in regularly liaising with production supervisors or shift managers and closely monitoring production programmes, in order to help in managing maintenance activities and foreseeing possible problems, enabling early action to be taken in order to minimize downtime and lead to improvements.


Qualifications/Competencies:

* 4 year apprenticeship training with associated on the job qualifications such as a L3 NVQ together with corresponding academic knowledge to ONC or HNC level in an electrical discipline.

* Effective communicator, decisive, pro-active and self-motivated individual who works well under pressure with a demonstrable commitment to professional development.

* Competent user of Computer Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
