Location: HM Tower of London

Salary: £32,506

Job Type: Permanent, Full time

Closing Date: 2nd May 2018

The Company is the charity responsible for the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, Kew Palace, Banqueting House and Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland. They help everyone explore the stories of how monarchs and people helped shape society in some of the greatest palaces ever built.

They currently have a vacancy for a Training and Development Officer who will be based at HM Tower of London and will report to the Sales and Operations Manager but will also work closely with the Head of Retail Sales and Operations. This role is fundamental in ensuring that the training requirements of the Retail and Catering Department are clearly researched, identified and appropriate training solutions are implemented and evaluated. This role will also work with the Company's Learning and Development Manager to ensure the co-ordination of their strategy.

Role Overview:

A challenging and exciting position, your responsibilities will include carrying out thorough research on the status of training and development needs for Retail staff by talking to managers and front line staff. Following this analysis, you will be responsible for identifying appropriate training solutions and creating a development programme to address these needs.

The role also includes developing a number of e-Learning modules and maintaining effective customer and supplier relationships, as well as providing efficient administrative support and ensuring Retail Department training records are maintained.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in staff training and development. Previous experience in research related to Learning and Development such as Training Needs Analysis is a must, as well as possessing excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. You must possess the commitment and passion to deliver first-class customer service. As an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual, you will relish the challenge of using your initiative to prioritise and plan for the demands of a heavy workload within a changing environment.

As you will play a key role in the organisation and planning of training events, flexibility in working hours is required. Many frontline staff briefings take place prior to the Tower of London opening, so you will be required to work from 8am at times.

The Company is an equal opportunities employer and truly values a diverse workforce. Applications are welcome from candidates regardless of their background.
