Manufacturing/Planning Quality Engineer (Contract)
Morson International are currently looking to recruit a Manufacturing/Planning Quality Engineer to work for one of our Aerospace Clients based in Wolverhampton. This is a contract role for 6 months+
Duties:
- Creation of Excel template for process timings
- Uploading process timings into the system
- Capture all process improvement data (already identified) onto master spread sheet
- Update Technical Packs in line with updated process timings
- Update and monitor project plans, develop recovery plans, risk reviews, reporting, drawing analysis etc.
- To execute tasks in line with the Customer Group Quality Procedures and production system
- Read and understand the Engineering drawings
- Support the development and introduction of process planning for various components
- Create manufacturing geometry processes with respect to Manufacturing router as designed in
- Process planning Support in design of Tooling and Fixturing Support for required manufacturing changes / process optimization.
- Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, viz. Lean Management.
- Update and monitor project plans, develop recovery plans, risk reviews, reporting, drawing analysis etc.
Key Technical/Professional Competencies
- Good knowledge on various manufacturing processes
- Ability to interpret process improvement data
- Well versed with Engineering & manufacturing drawings
- Knowledge in interpreting the GD&T (standards ASME Y 14.5, JES 161)
- Knowledge in measurements system analysis ( MSA)
- Knowledge of NDT and special process techniques
- Good knowledge on Concessions, containment procedures and traceability techniques
- Awareness of aerospace engine products
- Awareness of aerospace quality requirements
- Awareness of aerospace/auto quality requirements (AS9100, OSHAS, TS 16949, various ISO )
- Hands on experience in PLM and CAPP module will be added advantage
- Understanding of Quality Management System ( AS9100, ISO14000, ISO9001, TS16949)
- Understanding of capability acquisition
- Understanding of product design and introduction
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, PFMEA and Control plans
- Understanding of Process Excellence (certified Green Belt)
- Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering core processes (e.g. process planning, inspection planning, tooling, creation of operator instructions)
- Understanding of Measurement processes
- Understanding of Process capability as determined by statistical process control
- Awareness of aerospace engine products
- Awareness of aerospace quality requirements
- Ability to characterize various tools, toolings and fixtures Ability to interpret/generate engineering drawings/models
- Understanding of various manufacturing processes, conventional and non-conventional
- In-depth knowledge of various Machine tools ( 2 axis, 3 axis & 5 axis machines)
