Trainee Driver Apprentice – Bonnyrigg
Salary: £19,940 plus paid overtime

As our Trainee Driver Apprentice joining our Collections team, you’ll work to achieve LGV Driver status within the Viridor fleet and working with the Logistics Unit Managers to operate equipment safely, compliantly and incident free whilst maximising efficiency.

You’ll represent Viridor professionally and provide an excellent customer service at all times, both internally and externally. You’ll carry out safe and efficient collections and deliveries as directed whilst accurately completing all required paperwork.

Responsible for carrying out daily vehicle checks, the Trainee Driver Apprentice will report all vehicle equipment/container faults immediately and accurately by the approved defect reporting system. Additional work as a Loader is also required at times within this role.

We operate our business with Health and Safety at it’s core, therefore a willingness to learn procedure and legislation and implement health and safety at all times will be a central responsibility within this role ensuring a safe environment for yourself, colleagues and customers.

With a positive can-do attitude, a willingness to learn and demonstrable commitment to the Apprenticeship Scheme, we will provide full support and training that helps you to develop experience and an understanding of the waste industry, collections and deliveries, the LGV Driver role and responsibilities and wider Logistics business area.

We’re looking for a Trainee Driver Apprentice who has a full driving license, is self-motivated, able to work with management, possesses good customer service and communication skills, including written English. Previous work experience in a similar environment is desirable but not essential.
