Your new role

Mountjoy Ltd is contracted to the Isle of Wight Council, Vectis Housing Association and the RNLI (amongst other clients) to provide the day-to-day repairs and planned maintenance to various buildings across the Isle of Wight. We are seeking a driven and conscientious Apprentice Administrator to complement our growing team.

The Apprentice Administrator is the perfect opportunity for an enthusiastic and hard-working person to start a professional career as part of an expanding local company with a commitment to investing in and developing their staff.   

You will join the Isle of Wight Helpdesk team in Ryde, working on the general administration of our contracts, helping to schedule our busy team and spending time with the costing administrator to understand the costing and financial aspects of the department.

The most important elements relating to your work are:

To support the Scheduler and Helpdesk team in

  • Ensuring that all works are efficiently and effectively resourced and managed from the point of receiving the order to the successful completion of works
  • Helping to plan for future jobs and appointments whilst anticipating our capability to meet the demand through resourcing of operatives and sub-contractors.
  • Updating databases with service certification and documentation relating to planned preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Contacting tenants and building users to book in works to ensure that we consistently meet contracted response times.
  • Allocating the right operatives, based on their skills, availability and locality to the jobs that are nearing completion to ensure we meet appointment times/response times and minimise travel and unproductive time.
  • Complete and provide job updates and performance data to clients as required, including monthly reporting

To support the Costing Administrator in:

  • Ensuring that all the correct information is available for the accurate costing.
  • Helping to prepare completed work to be invoiced appropriately to the client.

The Required Qualifications

  • You will ideally need to have 5 GCSEs grades 9-4 (A*-C), preferably including Maths and English. If you do not have these you will need to undertake Functional Skills alongside your apprenticeship program.
