Job Purpose

Responsible for developing channels of supply at the lowest total cost for the company.

Knowledge

• Wing to wing understanding of the supply chain
• Good business acumen and awareness of the steel market

Skills

• Good communication skills - both written and verbal
• Able to develop strong effective relationships both internally and outside of the organisation
• Negotiation skills including contract negotiation
• Analytical mindset

Qualifications

• CIPS or equivalent
• Experience in conducting multiple complex sourcing projects

Key Role Requirements

• Support sourcing strategy development and execution
• Manage selected sourcing programs/projects to drive cost effectiveness for the business
• Liaise with suppliers as well as internal stakeholders until the sourcing programs/projects are fully implemented
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure sustainable supply
• Use market and industry intelligence to identify and qualify new suppliers and use data to support the business and delivery of services. In addition, identify risk, threats and provide solutions for mitigation
• Ensure compliance to sourcing and contracting policies, procedures, risk management programs, and ethics

Budgetary Responsibility

• Track savings made on sourcing programs/projects
• Maintain Inventory at the correct levels
• Monitor Supplier Spending
• Ensure best sourcing routes are always being used

Outputs

• Monthly KPI's
• Cost out / deflation
• On time delivery
