A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and well rounded Accounts Assistant to join a fast paced and successful team for a family-run business based in Birmingham. The business is well established and has been trading for over 30 years.

Responsibilities to include:

  • Sales Ledger
  • Purchase Ledger
  • Standard Data Collection
  • Processing orders
  • Chasing Customers for payments
  • Arranging payments for suppliers
  • Supporting with month-end/year-end tasks
  • Creating and posting journals including accruals and prepayments
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Investigating invoice queries and discrepancies
  • To process financial information
  • Data entry and input
  • Processing a variety of other forms of documents and resolving inconsistencies and error
  • Sales and purchase invoices
  • Use of excel functions to analyse and interpret data sets.
  • Provide support to internal departments with the supply of data upon request within agreed timescales.
  • Credit control

About You?

  • Experience as an Accounts Assistant
  • Experience in both purchase and sales ledger
  • Preparing statutory accounts and financial reports.
  • Knowledge of accounts software Xero (desirable)
  • Strong data analysis and interpretation.
  • Strong focus on delivering great service to clients.
  • Fully competent in Microsoft office (excel skills is essential)
  • Methodical in your approach
  • Ability work in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work independently to tight deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail

The Role:

  • Permanent position
  • Parking on-site
  • £24,000 - £28,000 pro rota
  • Immediate start available
  • 09.00 AM - 17.00 PM 30 min lunch
