Overview

• Job Title: Trade Counter Assistant

• Position Type: Temporary (with potential for permanent after 3 months)
• Salary: £12.00 - £13.00 per hour
• Mon-Fri 9-5

We are currently seeking a proactive and customer-oriented Trade Counter Assistant to join a successful team in Smethwick. This role involves liaising with customers, managing inventory, and ensuring smooth operations at our trade counter.

Responsibilities:

• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner, addressing their inquiries and providing assistance with their purchases.
• Retrieve inventory from the warehouse as per customer orders and ensure timely delivery to the trade counter.
• Assist with stock management, including replenishing shelves, organising inventory, and conducting regular stock counts.
• Monitor and measure stock levels, reporting any discrepancies or shortages to the appropriate personnel.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the trade counter area to provide an excellent customer experience.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient work-flow and achieve departmental goals.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a combination of warehouse/customer-facing role or trade counter environment is preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic numeracy skills for measuring stock levels and performing inventory checks.
• Physically fit to handle lifting and moving of stock items.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in handling inventory records.
