JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Steel Erector to get started in the Coalville area. As a Steel Erector, you will be responsible for assembling and installing structural steel components according to blueprints and specifications. Your work will contribute to the construction of various buildings and structures, ensuring safety, precision, and efficiency.

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout and requirements for steel installation.
  • Assemble and install structural steel components, such as beams, columns, and braces, using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Align and position steel components accurately, ensuring proper fit and levelness.
  • Bolt or weld steel components together securely, following industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with other team members, including crane operators and riggers, to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations at all times, promoting a safe work environment.
  • Inspect and assess steel components for defects or damage, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  • Maintain and organise tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Follow project schedules and deadlines, completing tasks in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience as a Steel Erector or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Knowledge of steel erection techniques, equipment, and tools.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Own tools
