Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Supervisor to manage our team of Fire Door Carpenters in Leicester. The Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the installation, repair, and maintenance of fire doors across various locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, excellent leadership abilities, and a commitment to upholding safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of Fire Door Carpenters, ensuring productivity and quality of work.
  • Schedule and assign tasks to team members, prioritising workload to meet project deadlines.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, provide guidance, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Train and mentor carpenters, offering support and guidance to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Coordinate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain inventory of materials and tools, and oversee equipment maintenance to support efficient operations.
  • Implement and enforce company policies and procedures, including safety protocols and quality control measures.
  • Prepare reports on team performance, project status, and other relevant metrics for management review.

Qualifications:

  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • Own vehicle
  • Proven experience in carpentry, with a focus on fire door installation and maintenance.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, fire safety regulations, and industry standards related to fire doors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites within the Leicester area.
  • Certification or training in fire door installation and inspection is preferred.
