Job Title: Non-Domestic EPC Assessor

Location: Home and site-based working, with a requirement to attend the office in Faringdon, Oxon when necessary

Salary: Depending on Experience

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

Purpose of this position:

The Non-Domestic Energy Assessor is responsible for conducting energy assessments on non-domestic buildings and producing Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), and for modelling and reporting improvement scenarios.

Key responsibilities

  • Conduct energy assessments on non-domestic buildings.
  • Use specialised software to model the energy use of the building and produce an EPC.
  • Provide recommendations to assist with client compliance requirements.
  • Ensure that all energy assessments are conducted in accordance with relevant regulations, conventions, and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of energy assessments and EPCs produced.
  • Stay up to date with developments in the field of energy assessment and keep relevant knowledge and skills current.
  • Attending in-house and remote training and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Ensure high quality work is delivered in a timely manner.
  • Provide specialist advice on energy efficiency and renewable energy measures.
  • Log and update files, folders, and records on our internal systems.
  • Develop and maintain a relationship with our clients or their representatives to ensure that any issues are resolved promptly and efficiently.
  • Contribute to the continuous business improvement process and to the meeting of business objectives.
  • To be always an ambassador for the company internally and externally.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field is preferable.
  • Minimum of Level 4 Non-domestic EPC Assessor accreditation is essential.
  • Proficiency with specialised energy assessment software (Design Builder/IESVE).
  • Clean driving licence is essential;

Job Function Technical Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong and effectively communicate skills at all levels - internally and externally with an excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of management software programs.
  • Excellent organisational and negotiation skills.
  • Well versed in social media with strong IT skills, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Good eye for detail together with excellent time-management skills.
  • Flexible approach to changing deadlines and prioritisation of workload and tasks.
  • Ability to adapt flexibly to new priorities and additional tasks.
  • The ability to work as part of a team, and on your own initiative, is essential, along with the skills to be flexible, multitask and work to demanding deadlines in a busy working environment.
  • Plan and prioritise work to manage conflicting tasks, meet delivery deadlines/ targets, review progress, with minimum supervision.
  • Must have the ability to cope with pressure.
  • Positive attitude towards working in a challenging and changing environment;

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in similar role
