Regional Design Manager

JOB PURPOSE

The Regional Design Manager is to assist, and when required, deputise for the Design Manager. They are responsible for coordination of all network planning activity within their geographic area of cover.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- To coordinate all planning activities (internally and externally resourced) within geographic area.
- To design and oversee design of agreed architectures to satisfy company and customer requirements.
- To help develop, implement and champion CityFibre network design topologies.
- To actively support data quality within CityFibre's asset and customer management systems.
- To drive consistency, quality, suitability and cost-effectiveness.

- External planning resource

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Essential
- Detailed understanding of all aspects of civil route planning
- Detailed understanding of all aspects of fibre planning
- Full understanding of Local and National Authority regulations in respect to civil engineering works
- Ability to understand, and produce where necessary, detailed industry standard level of survey, installation and as-built documentation

Desirable
- FTTH methodologies and design
- Knowledge and understanding of lit fibre services
- Working knowledge of GE Smallworld
- Supervisory/managerial experience of internal and external resource

QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
- NRSWA accreditation to supervisor level

Desirable
- Commercially and financially aware
- Adaptable
- Excellent communication skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to lead and manage a team
