The Role

Full time Design and Detailing of a range of Mechanical Systems, taken from concept through to production drawings and beyond.

Work is varied, potentially including the design of: recycling plants and associated equipment such as conveyors, trommels, balers and bunkers; other process equipment including bag sealers; new products which might incorporate plastic injection moulded parts.

You'll be working as a part of a small team and will need to communicate well with clients. There's a flexible hours approach and the working environment is relaxed but there's plenty to do. You'll be in frequent communication with our office in Herefordshire.

Essential Skills

Experience in Mechanical Engineering Design. Some practical Engineering experience (can you use a torque wrench?). A working knowledge in the following subject areas: detailing; general fits and tolerances; geometric tolerances; surface finishes. A knowledge of materials: cast iron; steel; aluminium and plastics also of manufacturing processes; machining; sand casting; die casting; forging; injection moulding. A good understanding of fundamental Engineering theory. Strong 3D CAD skills, in particular SolidWorks. Good verbal and written communication ability.

Additional Useful Skills

CAE ability including SolidWorks FEA and structural modelling such as with SCIA Engineer. Experience in the design of the equipment mentioned above, particularly conveyors and recycling equipment.
