We are one of the largest guarantor loan companies in the UK, based in central Norwich.  We are looking for 8 new Loan Underwriters to join our team and help continue our growth plans for 2018 and beyond!

What does the job look like?

The Loan Underwriter is an office-based role, in the centre of Norwich.   To be successful in this role you will be fanatical about attention to detail, very well organised, service oriented and have strong communication skills to enable you to thrive in an online and telephony-based environment

As a loan underwriter you will be working as an integral member of a dedicated team responsible for the pre-qualification and underwriting of customer guarantor loan applications managing and co-ordinating individual cases from receipt of application through to conclusion.

As well as being able to deliver an exceptional standard of customer service whilst using sound analytical skills to assess each customer’s individual circumstance and situation to assure their suitability. You must have a passion for success and problem solving with an open minded attitude towards change.

Skills required

• Manage multiple cases simultaneously & effectively
• Deliver exceptional customer service & create a positive customer experience
• Demonstrate strong communication skills, as this is an office based role and our service is delivered entirely by telephone and online
• Handle sensitive and personal information confidentially
• Approach problems proactively with a methodical and analytical mindset
• Use skills and knowledge to ask open questions and where necessary, challenge information gained
• Act with sensitivity and recognition of customers in potentially vulnerable positions – mindful of the longevity of the required loan

What are we looking for from you?

It will certainly help if you have a background in banking or insurance.  It would also help if you have experience providing a world-class service.  But none of this is essential.

Because most of all we are looking for people with great attitudes and great values.  Thirty years of experience tells us that we can train most people but we want our employees to have our values in their souls and we cannot train that.  Either you have it or you don’t.  We want to recruit great underwriters – not just any underwriters.
