As our Collections Apprentice, you’ll enjoy and benefit from a varied role within our Collections business area. You’ll provide assistance with office and fleet administration and develop your skills operating our computer systems. You’ll also directly support Management and Customer Service and Collections Teams, enabling the efficient and effective operation of the Collections Unit in accordance with Company and legislative requirements.

In this role, you’ll be inputting data into systems and spreadsheets, assisting with inspection, maintenance and driving paperwork therefore you’ll have a good attention to detail and accuracy. You’ll undertake the important task of scheduling and routing fleet operations, assisting with optimising fleet resources and ensuring our fleet is operated in a compliant, efficient and effective way at all times.  

You will liaise with customers either by telephone or face to face, providing a high standard of customer service and supporting the teams that you work with.

As our Collections Apprentice, you’ll have Maths and English at GCSE (or equivalent) level, be motivated with a strong drive to succeed, demonstrate a good level of both verbal and written communication skills. You’ll be a team player and able to confidently build relationships with colleagues and wider stakeholders within the business. In this role, you’ll be required to learn to use different online systems accurately, therefore possessing good IT and Microsoft Office skills is also key. You will also be proactive in identifying ways to improve the customer service.

Whilst working as our Collections Apprentice, you will have the opportunity to achieve the following through:

L2 Customer Service
L3 Business Admin
L2 Traffic Office

Whilst not exhaustive, for your hard work, can-do attitude and commitment, we’ll work with you to develop a sound understanding of the recycling and waste industry, environmental legislation, transport legislation and Health & Safety legislation. In addition, administration methods, human resources and payroll, vehicle routing and commercial sales.
