Mechanical Submarine Support Fitter (Contract)
Mechanical Submarine Support Fitter required for work at Devonport dockyard in Plymouth.
To be part of the Test Rig Build Team.
Knowledge and experience of Submarine Systems an advantage.
Able to understand and work to engineering drawings.
Prepared to work in low dose radiation areas.
Flexibility to work on own and as part of a team
Prepared to work shifts and overtime as program requires.
Undertake installation and testing of submarine systems and equipment.
Competent to work on mechanical equipment and systems in the marine defence and commercial industry.
Read drawings, interpret work instructions and perform the work to time, cost and quality.
To be able to carry out surveys and pre-refit examinations of equipment, machinery and structures / fittings.
Set to work by the use of test equipment.
Carry out functional testing.
Competent to use general workshop machinery and hand tools related to the role of mechanical fitter.
A clear understanding of Safe Systems of Work.
Any other task within the individual's competence as directed by the Company.
