A well run and effective PRU school in North West London is seeking a specialist Maths teacher to teach at their KS3/4 school. The school has been hugely successful in terms of OfSTED (Good) outcomes and fund raising. The school is a positive place to work where challenging students do exist but where real worthwhile change is produced through hard work, a great team ethos and a supportive SLT. OfSTED praised the school's approach to individualised work programmes, the work done by staff to help those students who had gaps in their learning, the school's strong community spirit and the strong partnerships with student's families - the school is rated as "Good with outstanding features".
I am seeking an experienced Maths teacher who is comfortable delivering the curriculum to SEMH learners. Due to the nature of the school strong SEN skills. Whilst experience teaching in an SEN setting could be helpful the Headteacher encourages applicants with the right skills and experience from mainstream secondary school.
Classes range between 6 and 10 pupils and are supported by 4 TAs. You will be teaching pupils who range from entry level and GCSE Maths. The pupils have all been diagnosed with SEMH.Behaviour can on occasions be challenging however the school has excellent whole school policies as well as offering comprehensive induction and de-escalation training to staff.
