Production Manager (Permanent)

Shire Foods are based in Leamington Spa and manufacture frozen products for retails and the food service.

Shire Foods has successfully expanded its’ business by increasing sales with existing customers & integrating significant new customers over recent years. We are currently looking to strengthen our front-line leadership within the business through the recruitment of a Night Shift Production Manager.

What will I be responsible for?

Joining our team as a Production Manager, you will be responsible for leading the team to ensure the delivery of site objectives. On a daily basis, this will involve:

• Co-ordinate the various teams, via the shift supervisors
• Developing, training and supporting your team.
• Liaise with other departments warehouse/ despatch to ensure products are coming through
• Promote high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping and determining quality control
• To work closely with support functions, Engineering, HR, Technical and Planning to ensure the plant is kept in good order, staffing levels are adequate, food produced is legal and safe, and the production schedules are being met, daily.
• Constantly seek ways to improve, in all areas, from product quality and staff training
• Establish regular meeting structures with reports to promote regular improvements
• Assist supervisor’s in dealing with investigations that could lead to disciplinary issues
• Ensure that Health & safety regulations are always met and all accidents, near misses are recorded and reported to the Health & Safety Officer.
• Assist in the organisation of training new starters and relevant training sessions
• Managing the wastage on a daily basis and look for innovative ways to reduce wherever possible.

Could this be the ideal role for me?

As our ideal Production Manager, you will have proven experience working in a similar role in a FMCG high volume role. You will have excellent people management skills coupled with strong leadership capabilities. You will also have the following attributes:

• Ability to communicate effectively with individuals of all levels.
• Be able to lead under pressure and remain calm.
• Be aware and ensure the required due diligence  is completed in a timely manner.

In return for your appreciated work as our Production Manager, you can expect a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 plus 15% Night shift allowance.
