Production Operative (Temporary)

As a production operative, you will be working on a shift pattern as follows;
6.30am to 2.30pm Monday to Thursday and 6.30am to 1.30pm Friday AND 2.00pm to 10.30pm Monday to Thursday and 1.00pm to 8.30pm Friday on a week about basis.

Your main job responsibilities are to perform all tasks required in the production process, ensuring that all procedures are followed and that safe work methods are applied at all times. Your day to day job will include;
*Accepting stock/products and assisting with storage
*Assist with the production of ink pads which includes rolling and cutting rubber backed material into correct size and then edging with relevant metal strips
*Prepare finished product for storage and then delivery
*Fill out all required paperwork correctly and timely
*Operate machinery in a safe manner
*Working in a safe manner in accordance with site and corporate policies at all times
*Maintaining a clean work area
*Support other areas of the team when needed

Skill and experience;
*Min of 2 years production experience would be ideal
*Excellent record of attendance and timekeeping
*Able to support with overtime in busy periods
*Excellent team working attitude
*Full understanding and appreciation of health and safety
*Excellent level of attention to detail
*Sound knowledge of health and safety, previous training is a huge advantage
*If you have been a first aider or fire marshal, this would add value to your application
*Fork lift licence is not essential, but would be useful

This is an immediate temp position working as a production operative. You will be required to commit to a minimum period of 6 months, possibly longer, and for the right person this could lead onto a longer term opportunity. You will be standing, walking and lifting for 90% of your day, therefore you must complete a self assessment of your ability to do this nature of work. There is no flexibility in the shift pattern, you will be required to work on both shifts.

Hourly rate will be £8.80 for the first 12 weeks, rising to £9.50 thereafter. Full PPE is provided, however you will be required to provide your own safety shoes.
