What will you be doing?

We have recently launched a new Cloud-based platform, increasing speed and efficiency for our customers and our growing panel of lenders. As our Web Technical Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading a web team on an ambitious programme of digital change.

Having replatformed our technology into AWS Cloud, we are now looking to deliver key strategic business objectives using its new digital platform, marketing technologies, machine learning, and data. Key Web Technical Lead responsibilities include:

  • Lead a team of web developers who work both on-site and remotely
  • Establish web development standards and ensure they are consistently applied
  • Lead the web team in ensuring the best technical solutions are designed & built
  • Document technical/solutions designs
  • Present and contribute to solutions reviews in the Solution Design Authority Committee
  • Ensure code quality is high, that it is measured and continuously improved
  • Provide leadership and guidance to coach, motivate, and lead team members to their optimum performance levels and establish objectives for development
  • Ensure appropriate monitoring and operation of web applications and that any issues are proactively found and resolved
  • Responsible for line management of on-site web developers

What do you need?

  • HTML (5), CSS/LESS, JavaScript, PHP, AngularJS
  • Interfacing to JSON APIs
  • Must have strong experience of GIT source control
  • Web Standards, including accessibility standards
  • Deep knowledge of web security and OWASP
  • Automated testing of web software
  • Mobile-first development approach
  • Knowledgeable on best practice UX & UI design approaches
  • Development on multiple devices & browsers, including processes for enhancing features for new browsers and graceful degradation for older browsers
  • Knowledge of e-commerce application development, testing and deployment
  • Continuous integration and delivery pipelines
